    Located at 1000 Waverley Street, WEST offers a wide range of services that include Essential Skills assessment, support to create your own personal Essential Skills learning plan, and Essential Skills learning opportunities that focus on your workplace goals.

     All services are free.

     

    Current Essential Skills programming includes:


    Apprenticeship WEST (aWEST) - Trades-focused Essential Skills refresher training - Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, 4:30 to 8:30 PM, and Saturdays from 1 to 4 PM - Continuous intake (click here for more information)

     

    WEST -  Workplace-focused Essential Skills upgrading - Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, 4:30 to 8:30 PM, and Saturdays from 1 to 4 PM - Continuous intake

     

    iWEST – Immigrant-focused programming - ePortfolio-building Workshop (web-based portfolio-building for immigrant professionals), Communication in the  Workplace (4-day workshop for immigrant professionals), Introduction to Blueprint Reading (3-day workshop)

     

    Conquer the Computer

    Computer Skills for Work: The Basics offers support for employer referrals and those individuals with a self-identified workplace need. Come when you want for the length of time you need. – Monday & Wednesday / Tuesday & Thursday, 5 to 7:30 PM - Continuous intake. Click here for more information.

New: Essential Skills Portfolio-building course


At the end of this 12-hour course (four 3-hour sessions) you will walk away with an employment portfolio that describes your skills and knowledge in a language that employers will understand - Mondays, 6 to 9 PM.
